Re: delete files from a list
I tried to search for this, as im sure it will be already out there, but the search facility on the site needed more specifics than 'batch delete' or ' delete files from list'

delete files from a list
hi all, I am in need of what I believe is quite a simple .bat file. I have a large folder with perhaps 16,000 .wav files in it. I need to delete about 4000 of them. I have a .txt list of the exact file names that I want to delete and would like to automate this. Can anyone recommend the best way I g...

Re: Search large folders, copy found files, paste to new fol
I just wanted to jump in here and Thank both Aacini and Foxidrive, I use both of the tools you have created me on a regular basis. Foxi's I use to search through our entire network, to create a mass folder/dumping ground for all the files I will need in the future. Its accurate for this. Aacinis I u...

Re: Search large folders, copy found files, paste to new fol
woops i must have missed the notifications for the above 2 replies, I ended up just using a file renamer, its fine like that. One thing I have started noticing though is that the hard disk that my desk top is on has only around 100gb free Foxi when I use the tool you made for me, sometimes I am copy...

Re: Search large folders, copy found files, paste to new fol
Huh.. i just came across a problem where the file names of the tracks are in many cases too long for windows to transfer them successfully. I hadn't had that error at all, until i made 50 compilations in a week (thanks to this great tool foxi!) and about 15 of them included files that windows simply...

Re: Search large folders, copy found files, paste to new fol
Aacini it is true, your program is very very fast! However it is not finding files from the Root folder.
I have some test files I am searching for, which are 6 folders deep. It cannot find them.
It can only find them if the files are 2 folders deep.

Re: Search large folders, copy found files, paste to new fol
Hey aacini, yes I have been using Foxidrives .bats as I have managed to get them working really well. I am not very sharp with this kind of work and it takes me quite a while to learn how to apply the scripts. I think the ones you have sent me I have failed to get working, as I didn't completely und...

Re: Search large folders, copy found files, paste to new fol
Well i just discovered an issue with the multiple search, I attempted to have 10 searches going at once in a single folder with 4500 tracks in it, but of course only one file can be copied at a time from any given folder, so it essentially stopped the batch files in their tracks. I realise I can onl...

Re: Search large folders, copy found files, paste to new fol
Thanks foxi, that multiple search is brilliant. One odd thing has occurred, the copied files folders don't appear on my desktop. But when go follow the path from my start bar to the desktop folder, they are there. I try and drag them onto the desktop, and I get a message saying this is already where...

Re: Search large folders, copy found files, paste to new fol
secondly with the multiple bat files running at once idea, you indicated that the code was now updated, are these updates necessary for my 2 tools I mentioned above? The search tool with rename will NOT need to run multiple instances. The search tool without rename will regularly be used with multip...

Re: Search large folders, copy found files, paste to new fol
Hey Foxi, going back to single searches at one time, I have 1 tool which does not rename the files, and ignores dupes. Its working great. I also have one which DOES rename the files, but does NOT ignore the dupes. I need this to also ignore the dupes. originally we kept the dupes in, so I can listen...

Re: Search large folders, copy found files, paste to new fol
Hi guys, thanks again, I have tried to test these but I think I am getting confused, I having success with the tools, but am struggling to apply the recent changes you added foxidrive. ie this You will need to change the list file for each run, I presume, so launch the batch file each time with a di...
