I Miss The Old Console :(

#1 Post by nitt » 10 Sep 2011 17:02

I remember using it on my Windows ME a long time ago. It has a lot of tools and stuff, and it even has a logo.

I got rid of my Windows ME ages ago, but Windows ME and Windows 98 weren't much different. And I can emulate Windows 98 on Virtual Box.

Here is a screenshot of the old console:

The first three tools are pretty simple (starting from the first button on the left). The first gives you a selector and allows you to highlight text anywhere in the console. The second allows you to copy that text, and the third allows you to paste in your own.

The next tool, my favorite, allows you to full-screen MS-DOS. This is actual full-screen, you don't see the borders of the window. It looks just like it would if you booted in DOS mode.

The next one, with the finger, just opens the properties of MS-DOS, and the one after that runs MS-DOS in the background if pressed. Finally, the last one, allows you to adjust the font of MS-DOS. That one is similar to the dropdown menu on the top-left corner, except that only allows you to change the font's size.

It was just so much epicer.

I agree that it's alot more epic, but you can still select, copy and paste, and i also think you can get it to run in fullscreen w/o borders too, not too sure though.
