Greetings,
In my company, we are working in XP with Office 2003.
I work on a campus wide front-end/back-end MS Access database. Early each morning I have the back-end update through a scheduled batch file. It is posted everywhere to be out of the database at update time, however some people open it and forget to close it or are playing in it when it is time to update. Meaning the update fails, causing long delays and lots of unhappy people.
My question is this:
Is there a DOS script I can place in the batch file to boot everyone out of that file folder so that the update can then proceed without interruption?
Thanks

Re: Break server connection
Support is not available at 0600 or 6AM. So I'm trying to do a work around to break the connection and boot everyone out of that file so it can be updated.
I was told there was a way to do it in DOS but I can't find it.
Anyone who knows how, please respond.
Thanks
