I work with a lot of older industrial equipment. Recently purchased an upgrade to replace a floppy drive in a controller with a USB port. The USB must be formatted and partitioned into 1.44MB sections (FAT file system). The USB upgrade kit came with software that's supposed to format and manage the USB drive, but the program is garbage.
Using command prompt in windows 7, how can I format a 4 GB thumb drive into 100, 1.4MB FAT style partitions?

Re: USB Formatting
Question here first:
If the machine uses floppies and didn't have USB, can it handle a partition over 2 GB?
Is it running MSdos?
