How do I find the password to my wireless router?

the password isn't the default one that comes with the router, and we can't connect to the internet now without plugging our computers directly into the router.

Access your router by typing your ip address (can be found by going to http://www.whatismyip.com/) into your internet browser.

If you have not accessed the router before, the username and password it requires will be the default ones. The default router username and password may be different depending on what router you own so check http://www.routerpasswords.com/

Once inside your router, your looking for something that says wireless settings, authentication, encryption, password, security, etc.
Here you will find the field in which you can change the wireless password.

Typically for any router:

Open Command Prompt and type

Code: Select all

ipconfig /all

Default Gateway/DHCP Server is the IP address of your router.

You should be able to restore the default factory settings (including username/password) by holding the Reset button on the router for about 10 seconds.
