I have a laptop running dual-boot Win98SE and WinXP systems. It has a built-in "enhanced" keyboard, but I often connect an external "original" keyboard that lacks the "enhanced" keys. I'm looking for a MS-DOS utility or batch code that can query the keyboard and return an exit code that is different depending on which keyboard is in use (so a batch file can select the correct keyboard configuration file when loading my terminal program to log in to a remote shell account).
