@orange_batch
Good research, it may be possible after all. :D

But I am so busy, and know little C, and I don't even have the compiler.

Ok nit I would like to contribute something positive to your project in the form of your message box idea.
I have been working with some autoit for the project I guess it could be in any language but this seemed to work.
We have a udf with some advanced options and a basic layout. I'm thinking something along the lines of when button pressed set a flag to the batch script.

The idea is something like

Code: Select all

msgbox args
if [%flag%]==[value]
execute whats needed

Now communicating with autoit and batch is a bit tricky but can be done in the form of sending and receiving console output much in the same way we =<
So I am looking for some ideas as to what else this message box system could use or what you would like to see outside of what is already posted here and in previous post

autoit udf

Code: Select all

Lets just talk about building things, and leave it at that. If you want to talk sh** we can do that through pm and the useless thread I created.
Now lets make a msgbox that can pop popcorn.

I'm sorry. :<

I'm not a gamer, either. Video games tend to get boring real quick for me.

But I really can't think of anything MSGBOX can have to make it more powerful. It can display any messagebox and you can also retrieve the button pressed. Here is one of my examples:

Code: Select all

@echo off
for /f %%a in ('msgbox "Do you want to go to Google.COM?" "=D" 4g') do (set dog=%%a)
if "%dog%" EQU "Yes" (
start iexplore http://www.google.com/
)

You get a question box with yes or no, and if yu press yes it will start iexplore at google.com, if you press no it just ends.

I just finished PLAY. It's not that cool, but I coded it in C++ so it doesn't use .NET framework. All it does is start the sound file with WMPLAYER, but WMPLAYER is hidden so you don't see it. The PLAY /s switch terminates all instances of WMPLAYER. So basically it just allows you to play audio files. I think video will work as well but you'll just hear the audio.

So no one is a gamer....

That means that I'm not doing anything here....
Why did I post a reply on this topic?

- For fun! :D

Oh.. Nitt...
If you want to make those kind of projects why not rebuild CMD...
Just kidding xP....

I wish the best to your project, but will not help because my my programs on C++ are not that advance...

I am Rang, and I've done what you're doing... A loooong, loooong, looooooooooooong time ago. Then I got smarter, downloaded the source for ROM and modified that so I could have multiplayer :)

And back on topic...

@Orange - If I ever finish PowerBat, I'll give you a copy. I'm using the win-API and no .Net stuff. However... I kind of botched the whole thing because I'm incorporating CSVFix into it, or rather vice-versa, and now I can't really officially distribute it without source, and I don't technically "own" the source I wrote, my employer does.
