Issue catching succeeding command?

Hi Everyone,

I'm not expert when it comes to batch scripting but this problem i'm having looks so simple to resolve that it makes me upset because i cannot figure out what is causing this problem.

Please help me resolve my batch script terminating problem.

Batch script works but for some reason when i use this "smartctl.exe -a /dev/sda | Find /i "SSD" && ( Goto :TheEnd ) || ( Goto :_HDD)" code in my batch script it terminates soon as this command is to be executed.

This command is use for finding out if the first hard drive is SSD drive if its then Goto :TheEnd command is executed, if the first hard drive is not SSD drive then Goto :_HDD command is executed.

When i test this command it works but when i use it with my batch script this command makes the batch script terminate soon after command for deleting the Event Viewer logs finish executing.

As you can see code works but when i use it with my batch script it does not it terminates the batch script.

What IF does this else go with? You don't have any IF command with an opening code block.

You seem to be using delayed expansion a lot when you don't need to.

Also, ENDLOCAL is just ENDLOCAL. You don't put anything after it.

Thank you for your helping me with my problem, i have just test the script and i'm sock to say working part of the script causing the issue i can see the code that checks the if first hard drive is SSD drive works and the script moves to :TheEnd label there some how i have a problem.

As you can see from youtube video i have uploaded this batch script use to work.

Edit: Problem was caused by if command i have modified the if command now it looks like script works, i will report if there are any more problems.

I have completely changed the SysPerf batch script it now uses only two external programs and now i don't have to convert the batch script the executable file. I would love to share this batch script with public and members of this forum.

The SysPerf script will speed up Windows Operating Systems and internet network connection. This batch script has been tested by me multiple times to make sure it will not cause any errors and problems with Windows and network connections but to make sure everything's safe, before making any changes all the present settings will be backup, just in case you want to restore Windows to its default settings.

This program is made in Batch script, and uses two third-party utilities known as pagedfrg.exe and smartctl.exe. Below are the two links to VirusTotal scans results for these two utilities.

I suggest you to run the SysPerf.bat batch script file without any program opened at all (everything close), this way SysPerf will work better to boost Windows performance (by making a more accurate diagnostic). Do not close SysPerf console even if it looks stuck, frozen or not responsive. It does not get stuck even thought the output of the SysPerf script may sometimes stay static for long period of time, it's still working in the background. The process can take up to 10 minutes or more to complete, it depends on your hard drive current fragmentation level.

SysPerf can detect the first hard drive type and if its SSD drive then defragmentation will be skipped.
